Black Ops 6 Season 1: Everything You Need to Know
As mentioned, Black Ops 6 Season 1 will be available as a free in-game update on November 14. Here’s a breakdown of all the new maps, modes, and features to expect in this season, along with some additional tweaks that will enhance the gameplay.
New Maps
- Hideout : medium-sized map that doubles as a training site.
- Extraction: A medium-sized map situated in Avalon.
- Heirloom: A compact-sized map featuring a fine arts museum.
Three new maps are coming with Season 1. Some of them will be available right from the start, while others, like Racket and Hacienda, will be released in a mid-season update. Racket is a compact 2v2/6v6 map that takes players into an underground bank vault, while Hacienda, a fan-favorite map, is returning to the game, giving players a chance to enjoy it once more.
There’s also a festive-themed Nuketown variant scheduled to drop by the end of the year.
New Game modes
In Black Ops 6 Season 1, new game modes include:
Ransack Mode: This mode pits teams against each other to hunt for gold bars scattered across 6v6 maps and inside crates. Players need to secure their loot and store it in their team’s stash to keep it safe. Teams can even raid each other’s stash, with the winning side being the one that collects the most gold by reaching the score limit or at the end of the timer. This mode is sure to add a new level of excitement to the game.
Prop Hunt: A fan-favorite party mode, Prop Hunt lets players either disguise themselves as props to hide or become prop hunters. As props, players must blend into the environment, but they’ll be forced to whistle every 30 seconds, which might give away their position, while the hunters try to spot and shoot them down.
Future updates in Black Ops 6 Season 1 will likely bring additional Limited-Time Modes.
New Perks
Season 1 also introduces new perks, including:
Shadow: This perk makes players undetectable by enemy traps and mines. Available at launch.
Shrapnel Radar: When dealing blast damage, players can reveal enemies on the minimap, including those affected by area-of-effect tacticals, lethals, and field upgrades. This perk will be released mid-season.
Scorestreak/Support
Hand Cannon: A powerful large-caliber handgun that deals high bullet damage and penetration, this scorestreak will be available in both Multiplayer and Zombies modes at launch.
Wildcard
High Roller: Equipping this allows players to add a fourth scorestreak slot in Core 6v6 Multiplayer matches.
Black Ops 6 Season 1 Ranked Play Updates
Ranked play will receive major gameplay updates when it releases on November 21.
To unlock Ranked play, players must first win 50 Matchmade Multiplayer games. Wins earned before Season 1 will also count toward this total.
The Progressive Rank and Victory Stars system has been removed. Now, a player’s rank will directly reflect their Skill Division and Tier, and they will progress through 8 distinct ranks.
Other new features include:
Map and Mode Veto: Teams can veto one of the three map + mode options before a Ranked match begins.
Forfeit: If a team is experiencing significant losses, they can choose to surrender.
